Keep the children entertained at Aquopolis Water Park in Torrevieja, around 30 mins. drive from the resort. Further afield, but still within an hours drive, are the Aqualandia Water Park in Alicante and the Terra Mitica Theme Park in Benidorm.

Lorca Castle, where you can travel back in time and encounter the Roman world. It is a Roman-themed day out for the family that both kids and adults will enjoy. Educational as well as entertaining, there are many things to discover, learn and interact with.
Sierra Espuña, south west of Murcia city, is one of Spain's renowned natural parks. It is a wilderness of dramatic peaks and pine forests, offering scenic drives, serious climbing and superb walking.
Shopping
The resort contains numerous shops and convenience stores, but for more varied tastes you could always make the short drive north (20 mins.) to the regional capital of Murcia City. Murcia’s wide sunny avenues are lined with a great selection of both Spanish shops and familiar European high street names. Alternatively, around the backstreets towards the cathedral is a network of winding lanes brimming with exclusive little shops and charming boutiques.
The ancient port city of Cartagena, a similar distance to the south, will also be of interest to shoppers and those steeped with a sense of history.
For out of town shopping, why not try Dos Mares (open 365 days of the year) on the AP7 heading towards Alicante, approximately 15 minutes drive from La Torre.
Further Afield
The world famous Alhambra Palace at Granada, a World Heritage site since 1984, is an ideal day trip for history and art lovers. Granada is around 3 hours by road from Murcia, with most of the journey being by motorway.
Also located in the Andalucia region are the cave homes in the village of Guadix.
Or take a leisurely trip along the "Wine Route", sampling the culture and delights of Fortuna, Abanilla, Jumilla and Yecla.
For Moorish charm, travel to the Ricote Valley to see the charming towns and villages including Archena, Villaneuva, Ulea, Ricote, Blanca, Abaran and Cieza. Mazarron is on the edge of the Mediterranean and is a beautiful resort. It has lovely beaches with marina and well worth a day trip.
